Chulli Bagh

Villas in the Orchard

Set amidst old apricot (Chulli in Ladakhi), walnut and willow trees, guests can enjoy apricot blossoms in the month of April, mesmerising autumn colours in October, a quaint dinner setting with wood-fire under a star studded sky, or experience the ethereal moon light lying on the hammocks, nature at its best. These villas are at a 7-10 minute walk from the palace.

The orchard houses only three villas for the discerning traveller and ultimate privacy. Each villa has been hand built with traditional natural materials such as wood and mud but most importantly love. Each villa comprises of two cosy, private bedrooms that open into a common open plan sitting area with views of the orchards and surreal surrounding environs and includes a well appointed kitchenette as well.

Sustainable Architecture

The use of sustainable architectural building techniques and natural traditional methods make this villa serviceable throughout the year whether in the peak of the summer or the best of the winter in Ladakh. The bath and powder room feature modern amenities in a traditional setting. The rooms look out into this ancient garden scape which by intention have been left un-manicured, in order to retain its natural charm.
